Am I obliged to register my child?
It is compulsory for your child to attend school on the first day of the month after his / her 4th birthday. This means that your child is obliged to attend school from that day on.
It is therefore necessary to register your child if you want to place your child in one of the funded regular primary schools.
Does it make sense to register my child as early as possible?
No, this makes no sense. Only children who turn 4 years old between Mai 1st, 2020 and April 30th, 2021 need to be registered between January 1, 2024 and April 1, 2024. Applications for children who are younger or older will not be processed.
I forgot to register my child before April 1, what should I do now?
Send an e-mail as soon as possible to firstname.lastname@example.org. You will then be notified of the options.
When registering your child, it will no longer be possible to take your preference for a particular school into account.
Are there more primary schools on Bonaire?
Yes, there is another primary school on Bonaire called Aquamarin, this is a private school.
Het Koraal, is a small-scale private school for customized education for children with special educational needs.

The Public Education Foundation is responsible for education at Kolegio Strea Briante, this school provides education for children with special educational needs.
Is it certain that my child will be placed at the school where our first choice is made?
No, this is not always the case, as it depends on the number of places available and the number of registrations at the school in question.
If placement at the school of your first choice is unsuccessful, it will be determined whether your child can be placed at the school where your second choice is based.
